About the job class system in RagnarokAbout the job class system in Ragnarok
The job class system works in a ladder fashion, much like the one in final fantasy. I will start the game as a novice, commonly referred to as the new class, and upon reaching job level 10, I will have the option of changing into any of the 1-1 job classes. This pretty much sets my path, career wise, for the rest of my time and ro zeny in the game with that character. However, should I choose to endure till base level 40, I can and then become a super novice, which has a variety of skills from all the games various professions, but is statistically inferior to all the other job classes. In other words, I become a jack of all traders, yet master of none.
Once I choose my 1-1 job class I begin getting my primary abilities and attributes, as my level and embark on quests. Once I reach job level 40 and gain ragnarok zeny I can choose to either become my respective 2-1 or 2-2 profession. The profess I under went while in my 1-1 job class then repeats, and upon reaching base level 99 I can then be reborn. Should I choose to do this, my base and job levels will both be reset to 1 and all of my starts will be reset to the base level that I started at. I will loose all the skills and abilities which I had acquired with my own iro zeny as well, since being reborn turns me into a high novice all over again.
Once reborn I pretty much repeat the entire process I just spent cheap zeny in months, or even years undergoing. The only difference is that this time it takes twice as much experience to level as it did prior to your reincarnation. If I am shaking my head at this point, thinking this is insanity, I am mostly right and there are a lot of people that will agree with me. Upon my rebirth the game will give me 100 ragnarok online zeny and points to distribute to my starts in anyway I choose, making it possible to regain some of my former glory.
The catch to begin reborn is that when I am finished with my 1-1 job class I can choose either my 3-1 or 3-2 respective job class. These job classes have abilities and attributes that far surpass those of the lower level jobs. Getting to the reincarnation point is not easy though, and definitely separates the men from the boys. This is because there are leveling walls for each job class, which will be encountered along the way.
